Status and Information

The Electricity Policy framework for Arunachal Pradesh is being reviewed and updated to align with the latest central government directives and emerging sector needs.

Current Status: Policy status is under verification with relevant state and central authorities.

Applicability

In the interim, hydropower development in Arunachal Pradesh is governed by:

• Electricity Act, 2003: Central legislation providing comprehensive power sector framework
• Hydropower Policy 2007 & 2008: State-specific hydropower development policies
• Central Government Directives: Ministry of Power guidelines and regulations
• Environmental Laws: Environment Protection Act, Wildlife Protection Act, Forest Conservation Act
• Social Protection Laws: RFCTLARR Act 2013 for rehabilitation and resettlement
